Job Title: Casual Medical Office Assistant
Reports To: Keri McCormick, Clerical Lead

Position Overview:

 

Erie Shores Family Health Team is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Casual Medical Office Assistant to provide front-line administrative support in a dynamic primary care environment. Working closely with physicians and allied health professionals, the successful candidate will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic while delivering exceptional service to our patients.

 

This is a casual position that requires availability for evening and weekend shifts as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients with professionalism and compassion
  • Answer and manage multi-line phone systems, take messages, and direct calls appropriately
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments
  • Respond to general patient inquiries
  • Accept, process, and scan incoming medical records and documents
  • Handle payments and assist with completion of medical forms
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed to support clinic operations

 

Qualifications:

  • Medical Office Assistant Diploma (required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Core Competencies:

  • Courteous and patient-focused approach
  • Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
  • Willingness to collaborate across departments
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems an asset
